Kari was a three sport athlete at St. Clair High School in St. Clair, Michigan, earning All-Conference and All-State Honors in Basketball, Volleyball, and Softball. She was a softball scholarship athlete at Central Michigan University from 2007 to 2011. She pitched, hit and played first base for the Chippewas. In her career at CMU, she was selected to the All Academic Team, 1st Team All Mid-American Conference Team, 2nd Team All-Great Lakes Region Team, and served as a Team Captain her Senior year. She was also selected by her teammates for the Beth Pawlak Award (Highest Team Award). This award is voted on by the team and recognizes the dedicated player whose leadership, hard work, and positive attitude serve as an inspiration to those she encounters both on and off the field

Kari is a Middle School Math Teacher. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and loves sharing her knowledge of softball with others.
