About Us

At our 14,000 sq. ft. climate controlled facility, your player will be able to receive the highest quality training for baseball and softball in the southeast. With indoor baseball, softball and pitching cages along with an outdoor infield, South Carolina Baseball Academy will provide you with the tools needed to excel. Coaches can schedule team training and partner with the academy for discounted rates. Our state of the art website allows clients to book lessons online.

I'm from Roanoke VA. I just graduated from Newberry with a sports management degree. Completed a coaching internship with the baseball team there as well. As far as playing, earned 2nd team all Mountain East Conference at Concord University. Ended up transferring to Newberry and earned 2nd team all South Atlantic Conference and 2nd team Rawlings Southeast Region. As a senior, named to the Preseason South Atlantic Conference 1st team. Finished 7-3 with 94 strikeouts in 82 innings. Named 1st team all South Atlantic Conference and 1st team all East Coast Athletic Conference. Signed a free agent deal with the Oakland Athletics. Spent my first year in the Arizona League going 1-0 with 23 strikeouts and 6 walks in 28.1 innings.

Hello, my name is De’Andre Asbury-Heath. I am a 2013 graduate of Brookland-Cayce high school in Cayce, SC. After graduation, I was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals Organization in the 15th round of the MLB draft. Being an outfielder at a professional level has taught me a lot. I’ve learned a great deal from a variety of experienced professional coaches and managers that I look forward to sharing with you. My professional career and experience will allow me to successfully coach players of any position and improve their technique and skills. With my help, these players can succeed at higher levels of baseball and become all around better players.

My name is Trejon Smith. I was born and raised in the small town of Dade City, FL. I currently reside in Fredericksburg, VA. I competed at the varsity level all 4 years of high school, I played 2 years at a JUCO in MD: CCBC Catonsville. Then I spent my last 2 years at Newberry College. I did fairly well over my 4 year collegiate career. I am currently finishing up my degree at Newberry College. I think I bring a hitting knowledge that is well beyond my years. I instruct with a deep knowledge and a good understanding of the offensive side of the game. My focuses as a hitter when I played was to hit the balls to all fields, make consistent barrel contact , and having great plate discipline. I am very attention to detail and try to be a perfectionist with everything that I do. I have a very calm and easy going demeanor when I am instructing and that’s how I played also. I love the game, I am so passionate about it, I study it each and every day trying to find ways to make hitters better.

Hello, my name is Jeff Sneed. I am 24 years old and am a catcher/utility infielder with professional experience in the American Association of Independent Baseball with the Gary SouthShore Railcats. I am very comfortable and experienced giving catching, fielding, and batting lessons, as I have been doing so since high school. I went to high school in Atlanta, GA before playing at Louisburg Junior College for 2 years and Newberry College for 3 years. I am currently the Catching Coach at Newberry College and play professionally during the summer. I love bringing out the best in every player I coach. Here are a few of my college career highlights:

Rebecca Burriss
Rebecca Burriss Softball Instructor

My name is Becca Burriss. I am a Christian, wife, mother, teacher, and coach. My goal is to empower female athletes to succeed by showing them their potential and helping them reach their goals. I have 28 years of playing experience, including high school and college (WKHS 2000-2003 and Newberry College 2003-2005) I was invited to play for Team USA in Belgium my freshman year at Newberry and also received 2nd Team All-SAC Honors my freshman year, as well as Player of the Week several times. I’ve coached various sports at the JV, Varsity, and middle school level and continue to play adult softball.

Brian Currie
Brian Currie Instructor

Brian Currie graduated from Lexington High School and went on to play baseball at the University of South Carolina. During his time at USC, he pitched for the Gamecocks in the College World Series in Omaha, NE. Brian was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers after his Junior season and played four years in professional baseball. He is currently offering private hitting and pitching lessons to all age groups. Paige Holmes

My name is Paige Holmes . I played division 1 softball and was the starting catcher as a freshman at the University of South Alabama at the age of 17 after skipping my senior year of Highschool. After the fall of my sophomore year I transferred to Lamar University and played every position the whole season. My Junior year, I was the starting catcher and led the conference in percentage of runners caught stealing. In 2015 I was an Under-Armor All-American and the National Homerun derby champion. In 2016 I was An Under-Armor Preseason All-American. I had offers from schools such as Ole Miss, UCF, USC, and others. Out of High School, I was originally committed to South Carolina upstate as a short but due to graduating a year early I had to change my plans and go to the University of South Alabama.

Andrea Gause

I’m Andrea Gause a Conway, SC native. I was the running back for Conway HS football team where I still hold the record for most rushing yards and touchdowns. There I also ran track and field doing the long jump, triple jump, 100 meter and 4x100. I went on to play for University of South Carolina football team under the legendary coach Lou Holtz from 2000-2004 as Defensive Back and Wide Receiver. During my college career I played in 2 outback bowls receiving MVP Offensive Player in 2002.Under Coach Curtis Frye at Carolina I ran indoor track & field doing the 60 meter dash and long jump. After obtaining my Bachelors in 2004 I went on to pursue a professional career at the Washington Redskins Organization as a free agent. Today, outside of running my business I want to pass on my knowledge, skill set and the importance of the fundamentals, technique, and mechanics of speed and agility. This is essential no matter what sport is being played. My goal is to impact as many student-athletes with all I’ve learned through my journey. Spurs up!
